Samantha formed the foundation of the Thornberry Stud and it is with great sadness that we report her loss at the age of 29. We owe her so much and over her life she gave us a great deal of fun and pleasure.

She was Supreme Champion at the Royal Welsh in 1987 and is responsible for the Royal Welsh winners and Champions

Winner of the Senior Brood Mare class and Reserve Female Champion at the 2003 Royal Welsh Show.

Lightly Shown as a brood mare, wins include 1st Three Counties Show, Ist & Reserve Champion Vale of Glamorgan, 1st Avon & Border Counties WPCA & Champion Blaenavon. 

Her 2003 colt foal 'Thornberry Peer Gynt' by Cwrtycadno Cymro was unbeaten in 5 outings including winning his WPCS Medal at Avon & Border Counties Show.

Lorrikeet in 2003 at the age of 16 winning the Championship at Northleach Show and qualifying for the London Gold Championship!

Serin was broken in 2004 and in her first season under saddle as a 4 year old she has had the most outstanding success including qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show.

In 2005 she only just missed out on qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show standing 2nd twice and 5th 3 times!

She was 2nd in the Brynseion First Ridden final at the Welsh Championship Show

1st & Reserve Champion Micor Demolition Final at the NPS Summer Show

In 2007 Serin is being produced by Mandy Nevin and once again ridden by her daughter Jessica. She has already qualified for the NPS Micor Demolition Finals, the Welsh National Show and the Royal International.  

Serin will return to Thornberry in 2008 and be covered by Horesgate Spark

Prior to being broken Serin had an outstanding youngstock career which included Supreme Champion in hand at the South West Ponies Championship Show 2003 & 2004.South West Ponies Kraiburg In-Hand Championship qualifier 2002 & 2003, 2nd Royal Welsh 2003 & 1st Northleach 2004.  Also National pony Society Kilmanan In hand Championship Qualifier 2004.

Welsh Pony & Cob Society Medal winner

With a filly foal at foot in 2004 she was 2nd at Three Counties Show on her showring debut as a brood mare.

Her filly foal 'Thornberry Arabesque' by Cwrtycadno Cymro was also 2nd at Three Counties Show.  

Angharrad has been on lease but has now returned home. As she is not in foal for 2008 she has been lightly backed and would be available to a 5* home. Please see For Sale page.
